The brief

The client wanted pictures that looked made the way the work is made: few tools, patient light, and nothing added in post that was not there on the day. We agreed the shot list in one call and kept it to what the space and the season would give us.

What we did

We scouted at the hour we would shoot, built one set and moved the subject rather than the light, and delivered a first edit within the week. Retouching stopped at dust and the odd cable.

We asked for photographs that felt like the place smells. We used almost every frame.
