Heroes
Five ways to open a page: your name set large, a collage of work, a portrait and hello, a statement on torn paper, and a plain page header.
Illustrator and paper artist
Ada Reyes
I cut pictures from colored paper in Porto, for books, magazines, record sleeves, and walls.

Bright pictures, cut and glued by hand
I am Ada Reyes, an illustrator in Porto. These came off the big table this year, and one or two of them are still drying.

Paper artist in Porto
Hello, I am Ada, and I work in paper
I trained as a printmaker and fell for scissors instead. Every picture here was cut by hand at a big table by a tall window, glued on board, and scanned for print.
Studio visits on Fridays. The kettle is always on.

I draw with scissors, and the paper decides the rest.
No pencil lines underneath. I cut straight in and keep the happy accidents.
